Fishing at Queen Charlotte Safaris(QCS) lodge in Haida Gwaii B.C. Canada is one of the most amazing experiences you’ll ever have. This Yelloweye Rockfish is one in a series that I painted for QCS’s ‘Grand Slam’ which consists of catching a king salmon, halibut, lingcod and a yelloweye rockfish in the same day! I was inspired to capture the striking colors and dangerous spikiness of these large and beautiful gamefish seen through my interpretation of a slightly distorted lens as if through water .
